    Free Screenings

We offer FREE developmental screenings to determine if your child would benefit from speech and language services. We will briefly assess your child’s current level of functioning by talking, playing, and interacting with them. We will then discuss with you our findings and concerns (if any). Together, we will develop a plan to determine if your child would benefit from a full speech and language evaluation. Contact our office to talk to a therapist and discuss your questions and concerns.

    Evaluations

An evaluation will be conducted at our clinic located in Minot, ND to determine your child’s communication strengths and needs. We use a variety of formal and informal assessment tools including developmental history, observation, language samples, and standardized tests to obtain a comprehensive picture of your child’s speech and language skills. Together, we will create an individualized treatment plan with goals specific to your child’s needs. All evaluations are conduced by a North Dakota state licensed therapist, with national certification from ASHA. An evaluation report may take up to two weeks to prepare and we will follow up with you to discuss the results of the evaluation and make recommendations for you and your child. You will receive a copy of your child’s detailed evaluation report and treatment plan. Goals and treatment plans are specific and measurable so that your child’s progress can be tracked. Family involvement and communication is highly important to us, so please be sure to reach out with any questions or concerns.

    Therapy

Speech and language therapy will address the skills identified through your child’s evaluation. At Royal Therapy Services, children typically receive speech and language therapy one to two times per week. Each therapy session is designed for 30-45 minutes, as appropriate for the child and their family. We recommend the parents/guardians remain in the room during therapy as family involvement is crucial for your child’s long term success. Each therapy session typically consists of three to five play-based activities targeting specific speech and language skills. Parents/guardians will receive regular communication with their child’s therapist regarding daily activities and progress towards their goals. Therapists will assist the family with implementation of home programing by providing information and modeling of skills. This allows parents/guardians to support their child’s goals in the home and community.
